Water Academy

2017 Summer Water Academy

The Prince William County Service Authority is proud to open enrollment for its first annual Water Academy! This five-session course is open to Service Authority customers who are interested in learning about topics such as water and wastewater infrastructure and treatment as well as environmental protection.

The goal of the Water Academy is to foster understanding about the value of the Service Authority for a diverse network of citizens who are willing to serve as outreach ambassadors. A graduation ceremony will be held for those who successfully complete the course. 


Course Overview

Attendance of four out of the five sessions is mandatory. Dinner will be provided at each session, with the exception of the June 21 class, where light snacks will be provided. Two of the sessions will be tours of water and wastewater treatment facilities, respectively. There is no fee to apply or attend the Service Authority Water Academy. Topics that will be covered during the course are listed below:

Application Process

To apply, please complete the Application Form and email it to wateracademy@pwcsa.org or send a hard copy by mail to PWCSA Community Outreach, PO Box 2266, Woodbridge, VA 22195. Applications may also be submitted in person at 4 County Complex Court, Woodbridge, VA 22192.

The application period for the summer 2017 course will close on May 12. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status by May 19. Applicants are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Acceptance to the Water Academy is not guaranteed as class size is limited to 25. Participants must be 18 or older.
